Sad news came at the end of the working week. Fans of “The Inspector General” will again have to painfully experience a change in the leading project, since the next season of the show will be filmed without Vadim Abramov. The fact is that the latter decided to move from Ukraine to another country, which one is not specified.
« The filming process takes too much time and requires constant presence, which is practically impossible if you live outside of Ukraine, - says project manager Victoria Burdukova. - The presenter should be involved not only in the “Inspector General” project, but also in the post-show “Passion for the Inspector General”. In total, we film about 40 two-hour programs a year, and sometimes more. This is a huge amount of work that takes place all year round. And this assumes that the leader must always be on hand, be ready to go on an urgent business trip tomorrow. In the case of a person who lives abroad, this is very difficult, because his life turns from ordinary to life on airplanes. Few people are able to withstand such a regime. There is also another one important point: the person who is the host of “The Inspector General” and evaluates the Ukrainian service must, first of all, use it regularly. Therefore, we are now starting to search for a presenter who permanently lives in Ukraine».
Vadim, in turn, admits that it’s difficult for him to part with the “Inspector General” project, even though a new one awaits him, no less interesting life. « I am very glad that two and a half years ago I became part of the “Inspector” project team. This was a bright period of my life - I met many good and responsible people throughout the country who care about Ukraine and order in it. I gained invaluable experience. But circumstances have developed in such a way that I am leaving the country, and therefore I will not be able to devote enough time to filming. I wish the project team all the best and thank you for three seasons of difficult, but so important work for Ukrainians».
The search for a new presenter is in full swing, and the team is constantly reviewing candidates. Burdukova says that neither gender nor level of popularity matters. I was looking forward with anticipation and interest to the continuation of The Inspector, who inspects restaurants, hotels and shops. Although, before them, Gordon Ramsay checked restaurants and hotels and, by the way, very professionally. Intuition, good memory and curiosity yesterday helped me unravel one of the most important intrigues of the year - who will replace Olga Freimut in The Inspector General. I have to admit that my summer speculations about the candidacy of a potential presenter turned out to be very far from the truth - this is not Pritula, not Marchenko, or even Poplavsky... But first things first.
After long hours spent on various forums, websites of regional Ukrainian media, as well as on official and unofficial “Inspector” accounts on social networks, I learned three things. Firstly, Victoria Burdukova’s team has already managed to conduct audits in at least five cities of Ukraine - Nikolaev, Odessa, Zhitomir, Berdichev and Uman. Secondly, half of the viewers still cannot realize that Freimut left the project - phantom associations force the unfortunate to bombard the official page of “The Inspector General” with comments about the ex-host and sometimes receive very harsh answers. Thirdly, it is easier to find photographs of the Loch Ness monster than the new Inspector General - according to eyewitnesses, the film crew carefully protects it from outside cameras, strictly prohibits filming close up, and even carries a couple of bodyguards with them for particularly dull fans. The story about the bodyguards is, of course, hard to believe, but the first two points are similar to the truth.
