In this master class I will tell you how to make a flower ball out of paper. Plus, I selected detailed photographs for each step of the process. With such products it is very original to decorate the interior for a holiday or just for no reason.
It’s very easy to make, the main thing is to prepare necessary materials, namely:
- Corrugated paper in two shades, which is sold in craft stores, or you can use regular napkins;
- A foam or plastic ball as a base.
- Thin wire;
- Scissors;
- Pencil;
- A glass or round cardboard blank;
- Ribbon.
Start making flower balls from corrugated paper from creating flowers. To do this, first fold the paper into several layers in a strip and draw circles on it.
Now carefully cut them out and put them together in at least ten circles and secure them with a clothespin for convenience.
The more layers, the more magnificent the future flower will turn out. Next, in the middle of each group of circles we pierce two holes at a distance of about a centimeter from each other.
We bend the wire into a hairpin shape and push it through the prepared holes.
On the other side we twist it well.
Now we fluff the flower as shown in the picture.
First of all, we stick a loop into the foam base and insert a ribbon into it so that the ball can be hung. Next, we begin to fill the foam base with prepared flowers over the entire area, alternating different shades of flowers.
This is how you get beautiful DIY paper balls that will magically decorate any interior.

We offer you an original New Year's craft for school or kindergarten, which you can make together with your child. A paper flower ball craft will be a wonderful classroom decoration or a gift that a child will make with his own hands. At first glance, the craft seems complicated. However, it is very simple to do.
To work you will need: colored paper, glue, pencil, scissors
It’s better to take a glue stick, it glues faster and stronger. Slice colored paper squares with a side of 7 cm. Our ball will consist of 12 flowers, each flower of 5 petals. A total of 60 squares are needed. We made 2 types of flowers. You can choose different color combinations, or you can make plain flowers, for example from white paper, then our ball will look like a fluffy snowflake.

Fold the square diagonally
Fold the corners of the resulting triangle towards the center. The result was a rhombus, but much smaller in size.
Fold back the top layers of the diamond as shown in the photo. You should end up with a trefoil like this.
Let's fold the corners of the trefoil. Smooth the fold lines well with your fingers.
Now fold the outer petals of the trefoil in half lengthwise
Roll the workpiece, pressing the edges together.
Glue the edges of the workpiece. Press them closer together to seal well. The result is a petal of one flower.
Let's make several of these petals and glue them together.

The result is such a bright ball. We pass a colored cord through the center of the ball, having previously coated it with glue. The end of the cord can be decorated with a tassel. To decorate your class or group, make several of these paper flower balls.

Hello, dear friends! I recently received exercise: do artificial flower balls for decorating the corridor in a kindergarten. I had no experience in this matter (that is, I made a ball of napkin roses, which I glued with a heat gun. Post "Crafts from corrugated tubes". Photo report about MK with employees kindergarten). But she got down to business, of course. Here is one of balls:
I bought foam balls D = 6 cm,
I painted them with green acrylic paint and screwed in a screw.
I bought artificial bouquets colors, at first three for each ball, then I bought more. As a result, there were 8 bouquets for each ball, with 5 branches in each bouquet.
The branches were “bitten off” with pliers, about 10 cm each
I tied a ribbon tightly to the screw and began inserting twigs into the ball, sometimes I used an awl, sometimes I inserted it like this

Yes, a bouquet compiled by florists is familiar and will never lose its relevance, but have you ever wondered why the shape of a circle, and the volume of a ball, is so attractive? This is the sun, this is the source of life and a drop of moisture in weightlessness, this is a symbol of harmony and perfection of being. Therefore, a ball of flowers will definitely make any interior joyful, smooth out everyday “corners”, and emit light and touching warmth.

What is a miracle made of?
Remember Tsvetaevsky’s “If only you knew from what rubbish flowers grow, without knowing shame...”? You can make a ball of flowers with your own hands from a variety of materials. Firstly, grow a magnificent decoration for the walls of a country house, balconies and loggias - fresh flowers of a spherical shape. To decorate a holiday or a gift - make it from fabric, ribbons, paper, napkins, ready-made artificial flowers. And all you need for this is basic material, a foam base, scissors, glue, some little things, and desire.
Balls of fresh flowers
For a special occasion, create a touching ball of fresh flowers. Most often, roses and carnations, available at any time of the year, are used for this. They are stable, have a strong stem, and hold the bud well. The technology is simple. For the base you will need a special floral sponge, not necessarily spherical. In a flower shop you can also buy a block from which you can easily use a knife to create a ball of not such a strict shape. Then you need to place it in water so that it is well soaked. At this time, cut the stems of the flowers, leaving up to 5 cm. How many buds will be needed? It always depends on the diameter of the ball. Let's assume that for a base 8 cm in diameter you will need 20 - 40 flowers. A cake stand is suitable for further work. We lower the stems into PVA glue, mixed in equal quantities with water, and begin to insert the buds on top, evenly covering the base. Have you filled everything except the bottom? Now carefully transfer the ball to the decorative pot. You can even do without adhesive bonding. The decoration is ready. Believe me, there are many options for work, and they come to mind, once you start. 
Splendor made from paper
Paper flowers can look completely alive, be decorative and elegant even in an ordinary setting. Working with paper brings a lot of joy. This is a familiar and plastic material. Start with the simplest products. For the base, find or make your own foam ball of any suitable size. We suggest making flowers from ordinary colored paper using a hole punch (sold in the form of 6-leaf flowers, 2.5 cm is good). You also need pins with beads and a hairpin if the ball will be suspended. We punch about 70 flowers with a hole punch. 
We connect 2 flowers, overlapping each other, and cut the lines between the petals a little deeper. We slightly gather the edges with our fingers to add volume, stick a pin with a strung flower into the base, for greater strength, securing it with glue (the so-called glue gun is very convenient). You yourself decide how close you need to place the flowers, what colors of paper to choose, how and where to place the finished decoration. It’s very nice to make a ball of flowers with your own hands from paper. Believe - everything will work out! Anyone who wants to create flowers cannot do anything wrong!
The most elegant
It is true what they say that a flower is like love - it takes time to bloom. A variety of flowers can be made from crepe paper. It lends itself well to formatting, creates three-dimensional shapes and looks alive in any product. From it you can make roses, carnations, needle-shaped asters, cornflowers, and anything else you want.
The base can be not only durable foam, but also a ball of thread. Take woolen, synthetic or any of those at hand, pass them through a tube of glue (preferably PVA), inflate a round rubber ball and gradually wind the threads, creating a fairly dense base. When the glue has hardened, carefully use your fingers to peel the ball off the thread body in several places, pierce it and remove it. Then you can work with the base in different ways: glue the tape, leave it uncoated. 
We take corrugated paper, cut it into ribbons 3 - 7 cm wide, 50 - 60 cm long. We stretch one edge a little, then, depending on the shape of the future flower, we either cut the edge, or, if there is a rose, do not touch it with scissors. We form the flower like this: roll the first 3 - 4 cm into a tight roll, then loosen the roll, bending the edge of the flower outward. You will get a rosebud. Do not forget to lubricate the base of the flower with glue every 2 - 4 turns. Happened? Now all that remains is to form a charming ball of corrugated paper flowers. You make holes in the foam, use a glue gun to fasten the shape, a hairpin through which you can easily pass the braid for hanging the decoration. Having admired the creation, you begin to search for new ideas: combinations of colors, shapes, adding leaves, twigs, ribbons, beads, pieces of organza will give such a fabulous look to the holiday that you will want to praise yourself, talented and inimitable!
