Recipe for tender and juicy meatballs with rice in a Redmond slow cooker. How to cook delicious meatballs in sour cream sauce in a slow cooker Recipe for meatballs with rice in a redmond slow cooker

Most often, meatballs are cooked in tomato sauce, but sour cream sauce also goes well with them. Meatballs are made from minced meat with the addition of cereals or vegetables. In this recipe, fried onions and carrots, as well as sour cream, are added to the minced meat, which makes the meatballs especially tender and juicy. The result is a hearty dish with a pleasant creamy aroma and taste.

To prepare meatballs in sour cream sauce in a slow cooker, I prepare the ingredients according to the list.

I cut off the crust from the loaf slices and pour cold milk over them.

Peel the onion and cut it into quarter rings.

I peel the carrots and grate them on a coarse grater.

I turn the multicooker on to the “Roasting” mode for 20 minutes. Pour 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil into a bowl, add chopped onions, fry until soft, stirring from time to time.

Add grated carrots, mix and fry some more. Place the vegetables from the bowl onto a plate to cool.

I'm preparing minced meat for meatballs. In a bowl I combine minced meat, 1/4 of the fried vegetables, squeezed loaf slices, salt and ground black pepper to taste, sour cream, Italian herbs, egg.

I knead the minced meat well, form small balls, and roll in flour.

I pour the remaining vegetable oil into the multicooker bowl, turn on the “Frying” program for 20-25 minutes, and fry the meatballs in several stages.

I'm preparing the filling. In a bowl, mix sour cream and water, add salt and ground black pepper to taste. I stir the mixture until the salt dissolves.

I put the remaining fried vegetables in the multicooker bowl, and the meatballs on top.

I end up with several layers of meatballs.

I pour the filling into the bowl and add a bay leaf.

I close the lid of the multicooker and turn on the “Stew” mode for 40 minutes. The sauce becomes thicker and also has a beautiful color due to the presence of carrots.

I serve these meatballs with pasta, rice or mashed potatoes, pouring over the sauce, adding fried vegetables and sprinkling with chopped herbs.

Meatballs in sour cream sauce in a slow cooker were a success!

Enjoy your meal!

Ingredients:

  • 500 gr. minced meat (I used chicken and veal)
  • 1 raw egg
  • 1 small onion
  • 1/2 cup 15% sour cream
  • 2 tbsp. tomato paste
  • 1/2 multi cup rice
  • 3-4 tbsp. corn vegetable oil
  • salt, seasonings (ground black pepper, bay leaf)

I think I won’t be wrong if I say that everyone loves meatballs. Well, how can you not love them? After all, you can choose to suit every taste - be it meat, or fish, or vegetables, and even with different sauces. Delicious things, and that’s all! Historians claim that this wonderful dish came to us from the East and subsequently spread throughout the world, captivating many with its taste.

Perhaps you have already thought about how meatballs differ from similar dishes - and meatballs, because, in principle, they are very similar? The answer is simple - the method of preparation! Unlike, for example, cutlets, meatballs are not breaded in breadcrumbs, but only in flour, and not fried, but only lightly fried in oil, and then stewed in sauce until tender. Adding rice to the minced meat helps achieve a more tender and light consistency, which is also appreciated by many.

Meatballs come out very well in a slow cooker, without exaggeration, much better than in the traditional way. My family’s favorite is probably meatballs in tomato and sour cream sauce in a slow cooker. Tender and tasty, they have become a frequent guest on our table. Therefore, today I am happy to share my experience with site visitors and show how I cook meatballs in my PHILIPS HD3077/40 multicooker. This is a very simple method, but the dish turns out gorgeous, and both my husband and daughter, and our guests, if they are lucky enough to try it, enjoy it.

Cooking method

  1. When preparing meatballs with rice in a slow cooker, as a rule, I start by boiling the rice. To do this, I rinse the rice grains thoroughly in water several times, place them in a multicooker saucepan, fill them with water in a 1:3 ratio and let them cook using the “rice” function. I cook it so that it remains a little undercooked or until half cooked.

  2. You don’t have to worry about the rice - nothing will run away or burn, so for now I’ll make minced meat (you can, of course, use ready-made ones, but I prefer to make it myself). I pass pieces of meat (chicken fillet and veal pulp) and onion quarters through a meat grinder. I knead well.

While I was doing the minced meat, the rice was cooked. I let it cool down. Now all the products for the meatball mass are ready.

  3. I combine the minced meat with rice (I take 1/3 of the minced meat volume) and knead it.

  4. I beat in the egg, salt, pepper and mix thoroughly again.

  5. I form balls from the prepared minced meatballs. The size of the meatballs depends on your preferences, I got 11 pieces.

  6. I fry the meatballs in a slow cooker on both sides, heating the vegetable oil (for this I select the “fry” mode).

  7. I make a sauce for meatballs: mix sour cream with tomato paste diluted with water (0.5 cup 15% sour cream + 2 tbsp tomato paste + 0.5 cup water).

  8. Pour the prepared tomato-sour cream sauce over the fried meatballs, add spices and cook in a slow cooker for 40 minutes, selecting the “stew” mode.

  9. A sound signal and aromas will notify me that the meatballs in tomato-sour cream sauce in the slow cooker are ready.

  10. I serve it to the table, seasoned with herbs.

Note: the classic recipe involves breading the meatballs in flour before frying, but you don’t have to do this; in addition, if you want to prepare a more dietary version of this dish, you can immediately simmer the meatballs unfried in tomato-sour cream sauce in a slow cooker.

It will turn out no less tasty, but in a healthier way. These meatballs can be safely fed to children starting from early preschool age. You can also steam the meatballs, and the sauce for them will be cooked in a bowl at this time, this is what I did when I cooked.
