The bridge has a poster for January. Drama Theater "At the Bridge", Perm: description, history, playbill, repertoire and reviews

The original Theater "U Mosta", created in 1988 by Sergei Fedotov, literally blew up the theatrical situation in Perm with bright, non-standard performances. Initially, the theater received its name due to its proximity to the Kama Bridge, but gradually the phrase Theater “At the Bridge” becomes a sign expressing its artistic concept. Fedotov's productions are, in essence, a bridge between the real and the otherworldly, everyday and mystical, conscious and intuitive.

Exceptionality artistic method theater "At the Bridge" is that it is aimed at developing the traditions of the great Russian psychological theater, enriched by the discoveries of the schools of Mikhail Chekhov and Jerzy Grotowski, that is, systems aimed at developing the psychophysics of the actor, his ability to work with internal energy and your subconscious.

It is no coincidence that the Theater came up with the slogan to express its own aesthetics: “At the Bridge” - a Mystical Theater in which everything is real, and a Real Theater in which everything is Mystic.

Mysticism in this case becomes a metaphor for the artistic method, the purpose of which is to find ways to embody on stage the deep, invisible, belonging to the sphere of the human subconscious.

The mystical world in the U Mosta Theater is largely created thanks to special literary preferences. The main circle of authors, one way or another, is associated with mysticism (N. Gogol, M. Bulgakov, F. Dostoevsky, W. Shakespeare, B. Stoker). And most importantly, this theater does not limit itself to staging one play by the author; most often trilogies or even cycles appear. This approach opens up the opportunity to thoroughly explore and penetrate into the very essence of the author’s world, the unique author’s logic with all its paradoxes and mysteries.

The U Mosta Theater is the pioneer in Russia of the Irish playwright Martin McDonagh. The play “The Lonely West” was shown in Moscow at the Golden Mask 2008 festival among best performances Russia. And in 2010, the theater became a Golden Mask Laureate for the play “The Cripple of Inishmaan.” Anatoly Smelyansky, Chairman of the Jury, Rector of the Moscow Art Theater School named after A.P. Chekhov, a professor, presenting the award to Sergei Fedotov at the ceremony, said that he was in fact presenting a very special award: “The First Special Jury Prize is awarded to the Perm Theater “U Mosta,” a theater that was founded and led by Sergei Fedotov for 22 years. This is a theater with an amazing repertoire, a theater that has been dealing with Russian and world classics for two decades, which stages the most complex plays of the world repertoire and presents not only an excellent repertoire, but also excellent actors. This Theater is an Artistic Phenomenon, it is a kind of Lighthouse, it is Support for Russian Psychological Theater.”

The author's theater of S. Fedotov managed to take part in 162 theater festivals. Toured in India, Austria, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Egypt, Kosovo, Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia, Estonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Slovakia, Hungary, Georgia, Turkey in many cities in Russia and the Middle East: Moscow, Sochi , Kuznetsk, St. Petersburg, Minsk, Riga, Tallinn, Prague, Hradec Kralove, Kyiv, Nikolaev, Sevastopol, Lvov, Nalchik, Yekaterinburg, Omsk, Chelyabinsk and many others.

"The Armless Man from Spokane", "At the Bridge" Theater, 11/28/2019

There are theaters whose tours I always go to whenever possible. These are, recently, the performances of the Perm theater “At the Bridge” - having once gone to “At the Lower Depths”, I fell in love with them completely and irrevocably. And I can say that this is the theater whose ENTIRE repertoire I would watch, and there are only a few of them.

“The Armless Man from Spokane,” staged by the theater together with the Moscow production center Slavskaya Production, surprises from the first seconds with traditionally plausible (as always) scenery: it’s as if we are in a real room in a run-of-the-mill American hotel.

The intrigue hangs immediately: the creepy one-armed bald man Carmichael (Vladimir Bolshov) keeps the black guy Toby (Ivan Ivanovich) locked in the closet, and the dumb blonde Marilyn (Yaroslava Slavskaya) brings him... a severed hand. The fact is that Carmichael has been looking for his hand for more than a quarter of a century, which was cut off by redneck guys as a child - they forcibly pressed his hand to the rails when a train was passing by. And then the freaks waved their severed hand at him. In any case, this is what Carmichael tells, who is hunting for them, devoting his entire life to revenge.

In the town, he meets Toby, a marijuana dealer, and his girlfriend Marilyn, and they promise to get his hand. But the price for deception is terrible... Carmichael is a real psychopathic killer with a subtle soul. He carries with him a suitcase of severed hands, is ready to easily shoot a person, pour kerosene on him and set fire to deceivers, but at the same time he dearly loves his dear mother and is imbued with sympathy for gibbons.

It’s impossible not to talk about the true star of the play – hotel receptionist-not-receptionist Marvin (Ilya Glinnikov from “Interns”). He is a sort of Moriarty of this town, an imp who mocks people, incredibly flexible, malicious, and also seems abnormal. It is not known who should be feared more, him or Carmichael - at least it is clear from him what to expect. And this one? Traitor or not? What are his interests? Why is he taking revenge on Tony? And why does he seem to be “running into” being killed?

The performance keeps you in suspense from the first to the last minute; it contains intrigue, psychology, and many jokes that are funny to the point of tears. In two and a half hours, a story unfolds before us that will become a turning point for all four participants. The ending is either open or clear...but I want to believe that Carmichael just walked away. After all, he still deserved a little happiness and peace.

"The Armless Man from Spokane."
So, what worries us here and now:

And then - what Sei Shonagon (Princess Marya Aleksevna) would say about this.
I think that I would still include the play about the Armless Man from Spokane in the chapter
Sights worth seeing
But this is in general, and in particular for us, theater audiences and fans, first I want to understand why this production is Perm?
If the actors are, all four are from Moscow.
For example, Bolshov Vladimir - Carmichael (Satyricon)
In the course of the case and the plot, he is a reckless criminal, a racist and a little (slightly) maniac, once a victim, and now, in a coat like Monte Cristo, with a pistol in one remaining, but dexterous hand, he is carrying out a general investigation of his life, but without much luck.
Oh, poor thing!
Outwardly, everything is the same: tall, square skull, thin voice. And a bit boring.
During telephone conversations with Carmichael's mother, it suddenly becomes clear that the root of evil lurks in her. After all, he, an armless man from Spokane, is simply hot-tempered, and loves his mother, and appreciates black women, knows how to see beauty and sexuality in them.
Whereas in Marilyn, a stupid blonde caught in the trap of an awkward situation of selling a fake hand, he doesn’t see it.
Although Marilyn is played by Yaroslava Slavskaya, her legs are an impressive length, her eyes are green, emerald clean water. That's what I would understand.
Ivan Ivanovich - Toby, her black boyfriend, is from the Roman Viktyuk Theater, but strangely enough, he just understands. Cowardly cute.
All three participants in the criminal deal were completely eclipsed by the receptionist
Ilya Glinnikov – Marvin
He just came out with his chin up and started joking
"I see the shadow of your feet, sir" (humor)
Then I danced from the candle-stove (drive and plastic)
Fired a psycho-monologue (from the word psychological) about a gibbon friend
And finally, he saved everyone with ease
Guys. Well done, the quartet was not bad
And respect was shown for the text, in the sense that no one shortened it.
The author of the play is a brash fellow, popular, and everyone knows his name: Martin McDonagh.
He - of course, they write everywhere - is an Irishman, born in London, into a proletarian family (a builder and a cleaner), and his plays are performed at the Royal London Theater, but we feel something different about him
Close-native-dear
He could well be from Perm, such a Permian is salty ears,
cut off hands, crooked legs, hot heart, tinned stomach, flighty head.
So all this captivates us and enchants us in advance - black humor, and a bad character, and small (rat) beautiful eyes, and a sheep's forehead (cool).
Thank you
We like everything so much
Something that looks scary
What seems pretentious and vulgar
The thing that makes your heart ache
What touches
Something that gives you a creepy feeling
The director of this whole affair is Sergei Fedotov, the creator of the “mystical theater” At the Bridge, here he seems to be from Perm, the city of northern ballet, wooden sculptures, Motovilikha and everyday madness.
They write that the director in his work combines the traditions of the Russian theater school with the avant-garde and experimentation.
I’ll adjust my glasses on my nose and say – I don’t believe it.
Sorry.
“Bezrukiy” lacked avant-garde and lacked experimentation.
This is old Russian drama school in good quality rich scenery. Not even a super-conservative grandmother will be disheveled here.
Against.
All this tragic fuss is exactly what makes the heart beat faster.

The Armless Man of Spokane takes place in a hotel room in real time. Actually, this is why it seems that you are not sitting in the audience, but looking through the keyhole at what is happening in the room next door. And something strange is happening there. Who is this tear-stained but charming blonde chained to the radiator? Who is the black guy next to her? Oh, it’s starting to smell fried, and in the literal sense: on the table there is a canister of gasoline, the role of a cork is played by a burning candle. Just a little more and it will burn so much that it won’t seem like enough! And here is the strange receptionist in his funny uniform. He is, of course, a talented guy, his dance with acrobatic elements alone is worth it! But why doesn’t he put out the candle, since he himself works in this hotel? And who is this mountain of a man with a shaved head and one hand in a black glove, climbing the fire escape and about to climb through the window? And what's on the carpet? Severed hands?

Yes, everything will be like that. There are only 4 characters in the play. This is Carmichael, who has been looking for his severed hand for 27 years, Toby, who usually sells marijuana, and then, to his misfortune, he decided to sell Carmichael the upper limb of an aboriginal from the museum, Toby’s girlfriend Marilyn, naive, sincere and generally kind girl, and Marvin, the receptionist who clearly deserves better than a job at the front desk.

Surprisingly, when leaving the theater after a performance, the heroes of which are completely crazy scumbags and criminal personalities, the viewer feels that he has become a better person. Ironically, McDonagh helps us better understand our neighbors. Yes, yes, and this Toby, who is ready to take a risk to get 500 bucks and take his girlfriend somewhere, and Carmichael’s seemingly crazy mother, who, with a broken leg, does not call an ambulance, but enthusiastically studies her son’s porn magazines. We are all human, we are all different, we all need warmth.

Minuses.
At first, I noticed two oddities in the plot, which I was going to tell readers about. But, as it turned out, this is not a bug, but a feature, that is, it was done on purpose and played out. So I didn’t find any cons as such. Good performance, you have to take it. The play is well written, the direction is above all praise, the scenery is magnificent, and the actors do not act, but actually live the lives of their characters.

Cast:
Carmichael - Vladimir Bolshov (theater and film actor, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, actor of the Satyricon Theater)
Marvin - Ilya Glinnikov (theater, film and television actor; best known for the TV series “Interns”)
Toby – Ivan Ivanovich (actor of the Roman Viktyuk Theater)
Marilyn – Yaroslava Slavskaya (theater and film actress)

Directing and scenography – Sergey Fedotov

The performance was staged by the production center Slavskaya Production together with the U Mosta Theater.

Somehow I’m having trouble visiting the Perm theater “U Mosta” - they often come to Moscow and show a lot of performances, but they still don’t coincide with my schedule. Finally, last week I got to the Theater for the play “The Armless Man from Spokane,” and even here it didn’t turn out quite perfectly. The play was indeed staged by Sergei Fedotov at the U Most Theater in 2011, was nominated for the Golden Mask and participated in many festivals, but we were presented with a version with Moscow actors and clearly prepared for further showing in the form of an enterprise. Of course, I would like to see a performance by the Perm theater with actors from Perm, but I saw what was possible. By the way, the actors in the Moscow performance are first-class: Honored Artist of Russia from “Satyricon” Vladimir Bolshov, theater actor Roman Viktyuk Ivan Ivanovich, as well as artists Ilya Glinnikov and Yaroslava Slavskaya. The performance is ideal for an enterprise: unity of place and time, a twisted plot and only four actors. The performance includes shooting at live targets, juggling with severed hands, and acrobatic choreographic performances - so the audience simply never gets bored. The performance is based on the play by Oscar winner, “British Tarantino” Martin McDonagh. Actually, it was Sergei Fedotov who once discovered this famous modern author for the Russian stage. Moscow actors in the Perm performance play with temperament and enthusiasm. Vladimir Bolshov is ideal for the role of Carmichael from Spokane, who spent twenty-seven years of his life punishing the thugs who deprived him of his hand. Ivan Ivanovich (Toby) and Yaroslava Slavskaya (Merilyn) are a kind of petty Bonnie and Clyde, in pursuit of easy money, they got into an unpleasant story. And Ilya Glinnikov in the role of the receptionist Marvin is incredibly charming, flexible and dynamic - he literally flutters around the stage, delighting the audience with his choreographic preparation and acrobatic numbers. As a result, almost three hours flew by unnoticed and I left the theater in high spirits, as if after a good comedy, but in the following days the performance did not let me go, forcing me to find more and more new facets in the images of its characters and delve into the many layers of the plot. So the play “The Armless Man from Spokane” is not as simple as it might initially seem, and deeper than it seems at first glance.

One day a miracle happens and you, driven by some crazy wind, find yourself at a performance by the Author's Theater “U Mosta” from Perm.
Yes, I believe that without the intervention of higher powers, such performances are not attended for the first time.
Then, having been surprised, amazed and in love, you will already monitor sites and social media, catch tickets and wait for the tour.
This fall we were lucky to see the LONELY WEST
McDonagh's plays entered the Russian theater world not so long ago, but quickly gained popularity, even though they are full of black humor and sometimes even a little absurd.
And this popularity is not accidental. The life story of a little person resonates with us more often than we would like to admit.
That's what the "Lonely West" is like - oh little man. More precisely, about several little people.
Irish village. A house in which two brothers live, who have just buried their father, who was killed by one of them.
They argue and conflict, regularly promising to take each other's lives. But then higher powers intervene, this time choosing a modest rural priest as a mediator.
And this priest manages to touch the most living thing in the “souls lost in vanity” of the brothers. It succeeds, but not in a sermon, and not in confession, but by sacrificing one’s own soul.

It is from this moment that the main thing begins - the transformation of the brothers.
Difficult and painful. And sometimes it even seems that the priest’s sacrifice is in vain, but
THEY WILL CANDLE IT!
How did Sergei Fedotov cope, who, together with the actors, managed to create an atmosphere on stage, thanks to which you do not doubt for a second that you are seeing the living room of the most ordinary Irish house. And it’s not even the gurgling of water from the tap or the puffs of smoke from the bullet-ridden stove. The atmosphere of this performance is woven from hundreds of carefully thought out little details.
Little things that delight a grateful and attentive viewer. It’s as if not only our heroes live on stage, but also chairs, and glasses, and old magazines, and a nail driven into the wall, and every piece of furniture marked with the letter “V”.
How fascinating it is to watch both the emotions that captivate the brothers and how they seek the strength to control these emotions.
How exciting it is to discover the world of a distant, mysterious country and a life so different from ours.
How wonderful it is to realize that having reached the finale of the performance, you suddenly gained even greater faith in your own strength, in the love and light that live in each of us.
The performance, by the way, was nominated for the National Award “GOLDEN MASK” 2008.”

Performance "The Master and Margarita".
I never go to performances based on the novel "The Master and Margarita"!
Or rather, it would be more correct to say “I didn’t go.” There are many reasons for this: I love the novel too much, I have my own vision of the characters, no production can contain everything, and without everything it’s not interesting, etc.
However, my level of trust in Sergei Fedotov and the U Most Theater is so high that I broke all the promises I made to myself and went to the play “The Master and Margarita”.
And in the first part I was very tense: I was afraid that somewhere they wouldn’t live up to it, they would trivialize it, they wouldn’t reveal it, they would break the fragile charm of the book, that I would become bored...

There are only the main characters on stage, all the action is focused on the Master and Margarita. The entire novel is packed into three hours of theatrical action, naturally we won’t see much, even something as expected and vivid as: the destruction of an apartment, the repair of a primus, a session of black magic and flying counterfeit money. But in this case, this layer of the novel is shown schematically, indicated with one bright stroke.

Here is a meeting at Patriarchal Woland and writers, then Yeshua Ha-Notsri and Pontius Pilate, a tram, Annushka. Stop! And then Ivan Bezdomny meets the Master in a madhouse, and he tells his story and his meeting with Margarita...
As soon as Margarita appeared on the stage, I exhaled, because it became clear to me that everything was working out as it should, that now I could relax and immerse myself in the action, without trying to logically analyze, but only listen, watch and perceive.
I remember Maria Novichenko from the mystical role of Panochka in the play of the same name. Here we have before us a uniquely Bulgakov heroine - beautiful, proud, brave and boundlessly loving.

And thanks to the theater for not flirting with the audience and inventing complex scenery for the sake of minute-long flights on a broomstick. Mysticism was created by play, by light. Of course, Woland performed by Valery Mitin - one glance, a turn of the head was enough to feel the breath of otherworldly power and danger...

I don’t want to reveal all the director’s discoveries, I will say one thing, this play has been running for 30 years, the cast changes, but the magic of the novel remains, because the manuscripts don’t burn!

One of the strongest modern playwrights is Martin McDonagh. In Russia, his plays are performed quite often, but only the Perm theater “At the Bridge” has staged all of his works. Fortunately, the theater regularly comes to Moscow. The action in the play “The Lonely West” takes place again in Ireland, in some town in Connemara. This area of Ireland is home to a beautiful national park. But in general, Connemara is peat swamps; it is not for nothing that its inhabitants used to be engaged in peat harvesting and fishing. As they like to say now, this is a depressed region.

But people live there too. McDonagh's play "The Lonesome West" is about two brothers who can't stand each other since childhood. But they have nowhere to go and so they live in the same house for many years. Until their father, stumbling, accidentally hits a gun hanging on the wall and falls dead. Did you believe this story? So Father Welsh, the local priest, didn’t believe it either. Moreover, after this incident, one of the brothers, Valin, became the rightful owner of all the property, and the second was left with nothing. The problem is that Ireland is, of course, a Catholic country. But Father Welsh is not respected in the parish; he is too unsure of himself, too busy searching for the meaning of life. And he drinks like a cobbler. However, who in Ireland doesn’t drink? And then Welsh decides to sacrifice his immortal soul, but to reconcile the brothers. Will he succeed?

As it is written in the summary, this is a comedy with 2 murders and 2 suicides. And this is the honest truth. Is this show funny? In my opinion, not very much, although the audience laughed. But it definitely gives food for thought. A black comedy in which people are dying left and right, in which the characters constantly threaten each other with a knife or a gun, calls for reconciliation and mutual understanding - is this possible?

The performance was staged absolutely amazingly (thanks to Sergei Fedotov) and very realistically (I couldn’t find who the production designer was, although I searched for a long time). There are only 4 actors (Vasily Skidanov, Vladimir Ilyin, Valery Mitin and Maria Novichenko), but how they play! They not only talked about the lives of their characters, but also showed how this godforsaken town lives.

A classic with a mystical twist
Gogol's “Marriage” is a well-known thing. Such a malicious comedy with a happy ending for the main character, but not for the heroine. And everything in this comedy seems obvious: the narrow-minded but amusingly expressing characters, the plot with matchmaking; but in the Perm Theater’s production of “At the Bridge,” one can very strongly feel the connection with Gogol’s other completely non-comedy works.
Yes, yes, if you add the mysticism of VIYA to the classic comedy, and take some of the nightmares of PORTRAIT, and, perhaps, add to this some lights from an ENCHANTED PLACE - you will get a production directed by Sergei Fedotov.
These scary additives did not frighten me, but amused me. Very carefully and logically they mixed into the action flashing lights, disappearing characters, greenish faces in the closet and candles, candles, candles. The performance has left reality and entered the otherworldly. Salt and pepper the sweet dish.
Otherwise, it seems to me, everything is traditional: high-quality acting; beautiful scenery of the manor's house; artists who visually fit into established images. No hint of the 12-chair Columbus Theater variations.
I was pleased to get acquainted with the theater, organized in 1988 and today having a huge page on Wikipedia.
I will keep track of new tours.

Healthy

I've been in love with Perm's "U Mosta" for several years now. Having first seen Martin McDonagh's production on the stage of GITIS, I try not to miss the tour of this extraordinary group. Under New Year I even gave myself a gift - I went to Perm and watched one of the performances on my “native” stage.

Sergei Fedotov's theater comes to Moscow quite often, but getting to the performances is becoming more and more difficult every time - after all, many people, like me, are waiting for the “At the Bridge” tour.

Why is this and what is the secret of this theater? I think that the productions of “At the Bridge” are extraordinary, have been awarded numerous awards and give the viewer not only a flurry of emotions, but also the opportunity to open oneself for psychological searches, to look inside, into one’s own soul.

And now, at the Summer festival of provincial theaters “Stanislavsky Factory”, the Perm Theater is overbooked - tickets are sold out long before the show.

And my theater collection is replenished with a classic - the play “The Golovlevs” based on the work of Mikhail Evgrafovich Saltykov-Shchedrin in the version “At the Bridge”.

It’s surprising that calling itself an experimental and mystical theater, “At the Bridge” stages classics without departing from storyline, without distorting or adjusting the story to the “topic of the day.” There are moments that are not fully disclosed, but they only push us to the original source - to re-read, to remember.

And in the dark scenery of an ancient Russian estate, the tragedy of the degenerating gentlemen Golovlevs turns out to be so relevant...

We see the collision of two worlds in a cauldron of related troubles: the imperious head of a large family, Arina Petrovna, and the youngest son, Judushka, Porfiry Vladimirych - tough, cold, despotic, striving for accumulation, money-grubbing, and a worthless father, worthless older children, grandchildren, wasting their lives and the inheritance of ancestors.
Indifference, hypocrisy, manipulation and, finally, curses make things truly creepy.

And there is mysticism here too - it is in how Judushka (Andrei Vorobyov) gradually takes on the disgusting rat form from scene to scene, how icons fall and family portraits fly off, leaving homeless holes of windows on the walls of a once strong house, how windows appear and pass in silent reproach the “gray ghosts” of relatives who left this world.

At some moments I could barely hold back my sobs - the feeling of no return, the feeling of doom, the collapse of the life of the Golovlevs was overwhelming. Strange, but who are they to me? And all of them are almost unpleasant characters.

But here last scene- all family members are together, gathered around a large table and looking into the auditorium.

Could they have lived a different life if not for the lack of love?

Many people know the unique theater “At the Bridge” (Perm). His originality and unusual productions, combined with appearance attract viewers. In addition, at the head of the troupe and the entire establishment is a very unusual person.

Historical information about the theater

The Bridge Theater opened its doors to its first visitors in 1988. This institution is very young, but has already managed to gain popularity and fame among a wide range of viewers.

The uniqueness of the theater lies in its genre. As S.P. Fedotov, the permanent artistic director, intended, only mystical productions are staged here. It all started with a small circle of enthusiastic youth, where Fedotov and the same associates tried a new style of playing.

The plays attracted the audience so much that a full-fledged theater was formed from a small circle, which was located in the building of the Palace of Culture of the Perm Plant. Performances took place in his small hall. The premiere performance took place on October 7, 1988, so this date is considered the official birthday of the mystical theater.

First productions

In connection with the chosen genre and style of playing, the repertoire is selected to be special, but classic. Thus, N. Gogol’s play “Marriage” was chosen for the premiere. The audience was amazed by the world of secrets and mysticism that enveloped the hall during the viewing.

The theater "At the Bridge" (Perm) is famous for its magical aura. He gained fame not only among the audience, but also in acting circles, through a whole cycle based on the works of N. Gogol. Even greater penetration into human soul and the original acting of the actors was helped by performances based on the plays of Bulgakov and Dostoevsky.

Founder of an unusual theater

The leader is not just a person who decided to devote his life to art. Sergei Pavlovich Fedotov is a laureate of the “ Golden mask" He rightfully earned the title of best director of the play " dog's heart", which was successfully held in the Czech Republic. Fedotov became not only the best director, but also the first among foreigners to receive such a prestigious award in this country, which is critical of artists.

Sergey Pavlovich is a native Permian. In his hometown, he studied acting and graduated from the directing department of the Institute of Art and Culture. Now his theater is known far beyond the city and even the country. Spectators from different parts of Russia come to watch unusual performances. All performances are distinguished by their originality, brightness and characteristic vision of the director.

Mystical director

Fedotov literally involves the viewer in his performances. He instills in his charges a new style of playing on stage, and mysticism reigns in the hall. Thanks to originality, sometimes grotesqueness and paradox, actors and spectators are completely immersed in the other world.

Despite the mystery, the troupe has a varied repertoire. Theater "At the Bridge" (Perm) shows tragedies and comedies, parables and even detective stories. But one thing is constant in the performances - mysticism, mystery and inspired play with sometimes absurd innovations.

Perhaps some may find the performances incredible or have nothing to do with reality. But this is the position of their director, and Sergei Pavlovich Fedotov does not want to switch to classical adaptations immortal works. But all kinds of rewards international festivals prove that a new vision deserves attention, and full houses speak of an exciting action that you must definitely watch and give your own assessment of what you see.

Theater productions

The U Mosta Theater (Perm) has not only works by Russian classics in its repertoire. The poster provides for both the best classical foreign plays, and samples contemporary art. It is especially interesting to watch performances that combine different genres. How the director manages to do this is a mystery, but premieres are always held in front of a full house.

The theater is an innovator not only in its method of acting and mystical performances. The actors, together with the director, were the first who decided to show the performances of M. McDonagh, a writer from Ireland, who is distinguished by the unusual vision of his books. It was for staging the play based on his novel “The Cripple of Inishmana” that the troupe received the Golden Mask prize. Now there are many productions in the repertoire, and the U Mosta Theater (Perm) is proud of all of them.

The poster invites viewers to choose the performance that is closest in spirit or to plunge into the world of completely absurd works, including:

  1. “The Master and Margarita” is a completely new vision of Bulgakov’s novel.
  2. "Pannochka" - based on Gogol's story "Viy".
  3. “The Pillowman” is based on the book by Irish writer McDonagh.
  4. "Quasimodo" - based on the work of Hugo.
  5. “Juno and Avos” is an unusual production of a rock opera.
  6. The Connemara Skull is a dark comedy by McDonagh.
  7. “Beauty and Linena” is a sad comedy by an Irish author.
  8. “Heart of a Dog” is a comedy based on Bulgakov.
  9. “Smell” - R. Familiari.
  10. “Castle” - F. Kafka.
  11. "Dracula" - B. Stoker.
  12. “Thirty-three fainting spells” - A. Chekhov.
  13. “The Star and Death of H. Murrieta” is a rock opera by Voznesensky and Rybnikov.

As can be seen from the productions, the director fully adheres to the special repertoire and supports the mysticism of the performances not only with acting, but also with well-chosen works.

Premiere of "Khanuma"

The theater “At the Bridge” (Perm) pleases with many premieres. “Khanuma” was no exception and attracted a full hall of curious spectators. The unusual thing about Fedotov’s performances is that the action begins from the foyer. The situation is the same with the production of “Khanuma”, where visitors are greeted by actors performing a mountain dance. You can even drink some wine from the hands of a beautiful Georgian woman.

The performance contains many colorful dances, choreographed by Muss Tulparov. And the incendiary lezginka and witty jokes helped to establish contact with the audience.

The value of the production lies not only in its unusual manner of presentation, but also in the message that the work gives. Here is the absurdity of veneration of higher ranks, and the power of wealth, as well as the running thread of a parable that puts everything in its place.

It is better to buy tickets to the theater “At the Bridge” (Perm) for the premiere in advance on the official website, because the hall is always full, and “Khanuma” has sold out more than once.

Popular "Pannochka"

Every troupe has its own favorite productions, which are popular with the audience and especially revered by the actors. Among its diverse repertoire, the U Mosta Theater (Perm) especially honors the play “Pannochka”. The director and his students turned the play into a real mystical action.

This performance is the face of the theater and its calling card. The screenwriter was Nina Sadur, and the director was the constant Sergei Pavlovich Fedotov.

The performance turned out to be the decisive factor after which the institution became firmly associated with a mystical object, and the theater was recognized as having the right to be a pioneer of the other world through acting and the art of directing.

The peculiarity of the production lies in its style. Comedy, horror and philosophical plot are surprisingly intertwined here. The involvement of the viewer in the acting is based on contrast. Literally now they are laughing, but now they freeze with fear and then flinch from unexpected things.

The success and popularity of the production are associated with jokes that not only make you laugh, but also carry philosophical meaning. Despite the fact that the performance was presented to the audience more than twenty years ago, interest in it does not disappear. Visitors who are not watching the play for the first time find everything new and new in the deep sense of the plot.

The acting is simply incomparable. The artists delve so deeply into the images of their heroes that the viewer literally finds themselves inside the other world and feels for themselves what it is like to possess secret knowledge.

Sometimes, in order to make a decision to attend a performance, you need to study the reviews of those who have already seen the play. The unusual nature of the establishment imposes certain restrictions, so it is important to know the opinions of visitors before purchasing tickets to the U Mosta Theater (Perm). Prices depend on the production and the room where the performance is shown (small or large hall).

If you look at the statistics, the cheapest tickets start at 400 rubles. The premiere and most popular productions can cost 2,000 rubles, but this is only in the first rows. More distant places are cheaper.
