Cook's secrets

To prepare jellied fish pie, you can use not only fresh fish, but also canned or salted fish and even minced fish.

In order to diversify your baked goods, the filling can be mixed with rice, potatoes, boiled eggs, carrots and various herbs.

The dough will be fluffy if the ingredients for it are at room temperature. The flour must be sifted to saturate it with oxygen.

You can prepare baking powder yourself: take 1 tbsp. l. starch and soda, add 20 g of citric acid and mix.

To make it easier to remove the finished pie from the mold, first sprinkle the bottom with semolina or crushed crackers.

Jellied fish pie is one of the simplest and fastest, but also the most delicious options for preparing a meal for the whole family. In practice, this is homemade fast food, in which there is no harm, since all the products (available in any refrigerator) are healthy and even very necessary for the body.

For example, sometimes children refuse to eat fish, but in such a pie they gobble up both cheeks, so no matter how you look at it, it needs to be done! And you can make it from fresh and frozen fish, as well as from canned fish.

The easiest and fastest recipe

It is not known where exactly this recipe came from, but it is believed that, most likely, the dish is from Soviet times and perhaps even from that catering industry. This doesn't make it any worse.

First you need to finely chop the onion and fry it in vegetable oil, and then add pieces of fresh or defrosted fish to it, and simmer everything together for a couple of minutes, and then salt and pepper the filling (you can add fish spices) and remove it from the heat.

To prepare the dough, you need to beat the eggs and mix them with flour, sour cream, salt and baking powder - it will turn out runny. Next, you can pour a little dough into a baking dish, then put all the fish filling there and pour in the remaining dough, or, if the frying pan allows it, immediately pour all the dough into the filling and send the pie to the oven, preheated to 180 degrees for half an hour or until browning the crust.

- what could be more ordinary and simpler, but this dish can also be prepared in an unusual way and add flavor harmony to it.

  • 300 gr. any fish;
  • 2 medium potatoes;
  • 3 medium onions;

The pie is baked for about 20 minutes at 180 degrees. Delicious and cold.

Kefir baked goods with fish and green peas

This pie recipe belongs to traditional American cuisine, which is famous for its simplicity and satiety. This pie is prepared quickly and all the fish go with it.

Required ingredients:

  • 1 kg of potatoes;
  • 0.5 kg of fish;
  • 200 gr. frozen peas (you can use canned ones);

Mash the finished fish into small pieces with a fork, and add butter, salt, pepper and a little water in which it was boiled to the boiled potatoes to make a traditional puree. Next, you need to add kefir, eggs and a couple of tablespoons of flour, and stir the peas into the resulting dough.

Now you need to place the fish in a baking dish greased with vegetable oil, spread the potato dough on top and sprinkle it with grated cheese. Bake the pie for about 20 minutes at 180 degrees or until a golden crust forms on top.

Canned fish recipe

The fastest and easiest way to make a pie is the one for which you don’t need to prepare the filling, and in this case we are talking about canned fish. One jar is enough for a whole dish.

Required ingredients:

  • 1 glass of kefir;
  • 1 glass of mayonnaise;
  • 6 eggs;
  • 1 can of canned fish;
  • 1 packet of baking powder;
  • 2 cups of flour;
  • salt and pepper to taste.

Cooking time: about an hour.

Calorie content: approximately 200 Kcal/100 g.

First you need to boil 3 eggs, and beat the remaining 3 with kefir and mayonnaise using a mixer or a regular fork. Then baking powder and flour are added to them, and the result is a dough with a consistency similar to pancake dough.

Boiled eggs are cut into cubes and mixed with canned fish - drain the oil from them and mash with a fork. If desired, you can add a spoonful of mayonnaise to the filling, so it will be more juicy and flavorful.

All that remains is to pour half of the dough into the baking dish, spread the filling evenly on it and fill it with the remaining dough. The jellied pie is baked for about 40 minutes over low heat, after which it can be taken out and cut into pieces.

It is better to add flour to the dough gradually, because it is better to use less of it than is reflected in the recipe, rather than all of it leaving and making the dough too thick.

Any fish is suitable for jellied pies, but trout will be especially successful.

Boiled rice can be used as an addition to the fish filling.

When hot, fish jellied pies go well with tomato juice, and when cold they form an excellent combination with sweet, strong tea.

Canned fish in tomato is not suitable for making jellied pies.

Jellied pie with fish can also be prepared in a multicooker - pour a little dough into the multicooker bowl, distribute the filling evenly and pour in the remaining dough, setting it to “Baking” for an hour.

  • flour – 2 tbsp. spoons;
  • drain cheese – 200 g;
  • chicken egg – 1 pc.;
  • lemon – 1 pc.;
  • sesame – 1 tbsp. spoon;
  • thyme – ½ teaspoon;
  • dill;
  • salt pepper.

An hour and a half before preparing the pie, you need to remove the dough from the freezer and leave to defrost. We wash and clean the fish, remove all the bones and cut the fillet into small slices, after which it needs to be marinated.

Place the fillet in a separate bowl, add pepper, thyme, salt, squeeze the juice from half a lemon on top and leave it like that for 40 minutes. At this time you need to start preheating the oven to 180 degrees.
Chop and be sure to dry the greens. Not a drop of moisture should get into the cake, otherwise it will spoil and turn out tasteless. Roll out the dough thinly so that it is rectangular in shape, grease it with cheese, leaving a couple of centimeters at the edges. Sprinkle chopped herbs on top.

By that time, the fish will already be well marinated. Place it evenly on the dough. On one edge you need to make the layer a little thicker than the rest. All this is very carefully wrapped into a roll of the same density and thickness in all places.

Beat the chicken yolk and grease the future pie dough with it. This is necessary so that a delicious golden brown crust appears on the surface. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and make a few holes with a fork, otherwise the cake will swell during baking.

Place in the oven for half an hour until browned. Then take it out, wrap it in foil and set it for another 20 minutes. The finished dish can be served with any sauce suitable for fish.

After rising, the dough is divided into 3 parts. Roll out two of them into a thin layer. We also put canned food and rice there. One part of the dough needs to be rolled out thicker, about 1 cm. Cover the pie with it and close all the edges. We make holes on top for steam to escape.

What you will need:

  • flour – 250 g;
  • drain butter – 100 g;
  • kefir – 250 ml;

The fish is cut together with greens. At the same time, eggs, cream and a tablespoon of flour are beaten, and spices are also added to the mixture. Roll out the dough so that it fits the size of the mold. We make sure that it completely covers the sides. Carefully make holes and place in the oven for 10 minutes at 180 degrees.

After this, we take out the cake and grease it properly with butter so that the dough does not get wet. We put the fish and herbs there and fill it with a mixture of cream and eggs, then put it back in the oven for half an hour until a crust forms on top.
